Kurita GK Chemical operates in Thailand, where it conducts annual activities
in the local community. In fiscal 2019, 105 employees visited Kung Krabaen
Bay in January 2019 to participate in a marine life cultivation program
started by former King Bhumibol of Thailand.
Kung Krabaen Bay was once
home to a large number of diverse creatures, but environmental pollution,
climate change, and overfishing have sent the variety and numbers of species
into decline. The program is designed to protect and cultivate the declining
marine life.
In their activities, Kurita staff used rope to create
nests for fish, shrimp, and crabs, as well as stringing small concrete
blocks together to create seeding beds for oysters and so forth.

business sites to contribute to making beautiful communities.
The
Kurita Global Technology Center carries out cleanup activities around its
neighborhood of Nogi-machi in Shimotsuga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture, twice a
year. Each time, around 50 employees and local residents participate,
cleaning up alongside the road from Nogi Station to the Kurita Global
Technology Center.
