Establishment of Kurita Innovation Hub - a New Research and Development Base to Create Innovation

Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (Head Office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President: Michiya Kadota; hereinafter "Kurita") established a new research and development base "Kurita Innovation Hub" (hereinafter "KIH") in Akishima City, Tokyo on April 1. KIH is a hub for creating innovations that solves social and industrial challenges by connecting with customers, research institutions, and other stakeholders over the world to integrate diverse knowledge. In order to realize KIH's naming concept of "a hub for technological innovation and social change that brings together and connects diverse people from within and outside the company," Kurita aims to accelerate the creation of innovation through interaction and collaboration with various stakeholders.

The functions of the existing R&D facility, the Kurita Global Technology Center, have been transferred to KIH, and the facility has state-of-the-art laboratory and analytical equipment for water and the environment; cutting-edge ultra-pure water production system that can supply large quantities of ultra-pure water; and verification equipment such as clean rooms that boast the highest standards of cleanliness. In addition, it has training facilities to acquire skills and know-how related to water treatment and develop personnel capable of solving customer and social challenges. Moreover, the facility as a whole aims to be an environmentally friendly base with reduced environmental impact and CO2 emissions. The green design includes a system for recycling water, a system that contributes to reducing energy and CO2 emissions by integrating the water treatment and air conditioning cooling systems throughout the facility, and the use of 100% renewable energy for the power supply.
