Water parks

Water parks

Kurita is a one-stop provider of water parks. A water park is a complex facility consisting of a wave pool, lazy pool, water slides, kids area and others.

The world’s first lazy river

Lazy rivers originated in Japan. Kurita constructed the world's first lazy river at the Toshimaen amusement park in 1965.
It is now known that the pool can be created by producing a water flow in a ring-formed pool with the use of pumps. For the world’s first swimming pool of this kind, Kurita conducted a number of studies and trials for creating water flows in a large basin with the use of small pumps before achieving commercialization.
Unlike those of the past, many of today's lazy river have complicated courses. Kurita proposes optimal course layouts in accordance with the topographical features and the overall layout of the water park as well as the traffic line.

Wave making systems for aquariums

Capitalizing on technologies for wave making systems for swimming pools, Kurita responds to diverse needs for wave making systems, such as those generating waves for penguins and seals in aquariums and waves hitting shores and rocks indispensable to creatures living in shores.

Exciting, world-class water slides

Kurita offers a wide variety of water slides. They include body slides, water slides on which inner tube are used and those on which large rafts for six riders each are used. Irrespective of the type of water slide, Kurita proposes a layout that is best matched with the locational conditions.

Constructed by Kurita at Nagashima Spa Land, the Boomerang Twist is a combination of two different types of large slides, one a boomerang and the other a manta. In 2013, it was recognized by the World Waterpark Association as one of the world’s most cutting-edge water slides.

Japan's largest kids area

In recent years, an increasing number of facilities have been setting up swimming pools designed for small children. In 2007, Kurita constructed Japan's largest kids area at Nagashima Spa Land. The children invent an infinite variety of playing methods, such as controlling the amount of water splash by opening and closing the valve, and shooting water at each other from water pistols. Kurita proposes facilities with careful consideration to safety, which not only offer fun to children but also put parents at ease about letting their children play there. Facilities are designed to suit the installation space.

Fountains

Kurita offers a wide variety of fountains, including landscaping ponds, monumental fountains, amusement fountains and fountain shows.

Fountains created by Kurita

Since 1964, Kurita has constructed fountains at 200 or more locations in Japan. With an awareness of water characteristics and with a concept of harmony between water and space, the relationship between humans and water, and familiarization, Kurita is able to provide a one-stop service that encompasses design, production and construction. Today, the roles of waterscapes are diversifying, and they now do more than serve to supplement the scenery. The displays and fountains themselves are significant landmarks. Kurita proposes fountains best suited to the location, surrounding views and purposes.

Renowned fountain technologies around the world

Kurita has developed the world's highest-speed three-way proportional control valve. Designed exclusively for fountains, this control valve has the functions of both an electromagnetic valve and a proportional control value. It can be changed from a completely closed state to a completely open state at the user's discretion in a speed range of 0.1 second to infinity. In addition, it can be stopped at any desired position to produce the desired fountain water height. High-speed computer control has opened unlimited possibilities for producing fountain displays that impress viewers by controlling water from every single nozzle without constraint.
