Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (Head Office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President: Hirohiko Ejiri; hereinafter "Kurita") has decided to acquire European companies manufacturing and selling water treatment facilities, namely, Arcade Engineering GmbH (Head Office: Germany; hereinafter "Arcade Germany"), Arcade Industrie SAS (Head Office: France; hereinafter "Arcade France"), and Arcade Engineering AG (Head Office: Switzerland; hereinafter "Arcade Switzerland"). Kurita Europe GmbH (Head Office: Germany; hereinafter "KEH"), a subsidiary of Kurita, has concluded a share transfer agreement, under which KEH acquires all issued shares, with Arcade Holding SAS (Head Office: France), the parent company of Arcade Germany, Arcade France, and Arcade Switzerland. As a result of the acquisition of shares in Arcade Germany and Arcade Switzerland, KEH will also acquire Arcade Engineering (Asia) Pte. Ltd. (Head Office: Singapore; hereinafter "Arcade Asia"), a subsidiary of the two companies.

To expand business globally in the electronics industry, a key market, the Kurita Group will leverage this acquisition to acquire local manufacturing bases and a supply chain for its water treatment facilities business, targeting the electronics industry in Europe. Kurita will build a business foundation for responding promptly to the growth in demand for water treatment facilities for the electronics industry, which partly reflects the European Chips Act, thus driving business expansion to the electronics industry in Europe. Further, Kurita will combine products, technologies, and business models of the Kurita Group, including KEH and Kurita (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Kurita, with the solution capabilities of Arcade Germany, Arcade France, Arcade Switzerland, and Arcade Asia, in its efforts to enhance solutions which contribute greatly to saving water, cutting CO₂ emissions, and reducing waste.

To drive its global business expansion further, the Kurita Group will reinforce its business foundation in each region, thus expanding growth opportunities, and provide customers with unique solutions that help solve social and industrial issues, as part of its efforts to develop increased intimacy with customers.
