Humanitarian Support Initiatives Related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

March 22, is World Water Day, first adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1992.
To mark World Water Day, the Kurita Group is pleased to announce that it is donating financial aid totaling 16 million yen to the Specified Nonprofit Corporations shown below. The purpose of these donations is to improve issues related to water resources and public health by building on efforts initiated in FY2018 to support access to water and by supporting frontline health care professionals in the fight against COVID-19.

(1) Reach Alternatives (REALs) *1
The financial aid will be used to give access to clean water and improve sanitation facilities for people in conflict areas at IDP camps in the city of Juba, the capital of the Republic of South Sudan, as well as to provide PPE and hygiene training in the fight against COVID-19.

(2) WaterAid Japan *2
The financial aid will be used to increase water supply, giving access to clean water and improving sanitation facilities for people living in Hhohho region of the Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), as well as to provide PPE and hygiene training in the fight against COVID-19.

(3) Médecins Sans Frontières Japon *3
The financial aid is a donation for MSF's COVID-19 CRISIS FUND to support MSF's COVID-19 response activities worldwide, and the consequences the pandemic has on their regular programmes.
