Response of the Kurita Group in Japan Following the Partial Lift of the State of Emergency

May 20, 2020

Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (Head Office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President: Michiya Kadota) announces that, although the state of emergency was lifted for some areas by the Japanese government on May 14, 2020, to prevent a second wave of infections, it will continue to have Kurita Group officers and employees at all its business bases in Japan work from home as a general rule.

As announced on May 11, the period of working from home will continue until May 31. The Kurita Group's business activities that involve going out will remain limited to those deemed necessary from the perspectives of business continuity of its customers and the Group itself and for responding to the demands of society, after appropriate measures to prevent the spread of infection have been taken. Its response on and after June 1, 2020 will be determined in consideration of future circumstances.

The Kurita Group will continue to make every effort to prevent the spread of infection considering the policies of the Japanese national and prefectural governments. We sincerely appreciate the understanding of customers and all stakeholders for the inconvenience this situation has caused.
