In November 2018, P.T. YAKULT INDONESIA PERSADA, Kurita Water Industries,
and its local subsidiary in Indonesia, P.T. Kurita Indonesia, ran a plant
tour and workshop on water at P.T. YAKULT INDONESIA PERSADA’s Plant in
Mojokerto to fourth grade students of Surabaya Japanese Elementary School in
Surabaya, Indonesia.
In the workshops, Kurita Water Industries helped
the children to understand that cooperation between companies is essential
for manufacturing, provided a lecture about the ratio of salt water and
fresh water on Earth and the concept of virtual water, and conducted
experiments about filtration and coagulation. After the workshop, the
children expressed surprise at learning that water is required for the
manufacture of smartphones, and said that they wanted to find out about
water with their families.

Kurita Water Industries (Dalian) Co., Ltd. Invites Employee’s Children to Visit

On August 20, 2018, Kurita Water Industries (Dalian) Co., Ltd. invited 13
children of its employees to visit the Shanghai Branch. There they learned
about the environment and conducted chemical experiments that model Kurita’s
operations, as part of an effort to help children, who will be responsible
for society in the future, to understand the need for environmental
improvements.
The children started by learning about water pollution
around the world and the importance of environmental protection. Then, under
instruction from employees in the engineering division, they conducted an
acid and alkali titration experiment and a simulated wastewater purification
experiment.
After the experiments, the children visited the worksite
for a tour in order to give them a deeper understanding of their parent’s
work.
