Hands-on Learning Events for Children who Wish to Learn about Water

Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (headquartered in Nakano-ku, Tokyo; Michiya Kadota, President; hereinafter "Kurita") will organize fun, hands-on learning events for children who wish to learn about water. The events are organized as part of the Group's social contribution activities carried out with a view to realizing a sustainable society. The purpose of the events is to share the importance of water and fascination of science with children who will play important roles in the future.

On Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, a hands-on learning event "Fushigina Fushigina Mizu no Sekai" (The wonderful world of water) will be held at Miraikan - The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Koto-ku, Tokyo; Mamoru Mohri, Ph. D., Chief Executive Director). The event includes hands-on exhibits and experimental workshops designed to make children aware of the diverse capabilities and roles of water, and its importance. At the hands-on exhibit area, children can learn about the relationships between everyday things and water by solving questions related to water. Experimental workshops provide the children with opportunities to learn about the characteristics of water through pH testing and foaming tests.

Between Monday, August 26 and Sunday, September 1, Kurita will exhibit at KidZania Tokyo (Koto-ku, Tokyo), a work experience facility for children managed by KCJ GROUP INC. (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Einosuke Sumitani, President & CEO). The exhibition pavilion will feature "Uchu Mizu Saisei Kenkyujo" (The Universe – Water Reclamation Laboratory) to allow children to learn how to reclaim limited water to survive in space. They will be given opportunities to act as water reclamation researchers and learn the differences between life on Earth and life in space in an indoor area that imitates a space station. They will learn how to reclaim water in space, followed by an experiment to turn precious moisture found in space into clean water.

The Kurita Group will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by providing the younger generation, leaders of the future, with opportunities to learn about water and environment in fascinating ways.
