Aiming to Become a Global Company That Can Contribute to a Sustainable Future for the Earth

For over a half-century since its founding in 1949, Kurita has contributed to the development of society and industry as a leading company in the field of water treatment. The corporate philosophy of the Kurita Group is to “Study the properties of water, master them, and we will create an environment in which nature and man are in harmony.” In line with that philosophy, we are firmly committed to fulfilling our mission: addressing environmental problems and contributing to the resolution of emerging global issues concerning water. In order to solve water-related problems, we think it is essential to focus on how to make the most effective use of water circulating the globe, rather than focusing simply on the amount of water available. In other words, the way leading to solve global water problems is managing water in such a manner as to ensure that water of appropriate quality and quantity will always be available, whenever and wherever it is needed. Based on this recognition, we aim to contribute to the effective and sustainable use of water resources by optimally managing the circulation of water.

The Kurita Group is now in the final year of a three-year medium-term management plan, “MP-11(Make Progress 2011),” which was launched in April 2009. We are now accelerating our business expansion overseas, expecting that the markets in Asian countries such as China, as well as in other emerging economies, will further expand as the need to reduce environmental impact in those countries becomes clearly apparent. Specifically, we are fostering measures for “water reclamation solutions and recycling of resources” globally.

We aspire to produce optimal quality water for each of our customers across the world and help all regions of the globe make more effective use of water, and to contribute to a sustainable future for the Earth. The Kurita Group will search for methods to make the most effective use of water, a limited resource, in cooperation with its customers and society at large. We will create more value out of water by achieving “advanced water management” in the way only Kurita can achieve, thereby realizing further growth as a global company.
