The Kurita Group is shifting its focus from its traditional product-based business to service business, in which we provide customers with highly value-added services.
This shift has thus far been conducted successfully, with sales of the service business now accounting for more than 70% of the Kurita Group’s total sales.

The Kurita Group’s Service Business

Under our service business model, we provide customers with highly value-added services that meet their needs, rather than merely selling products.
Specifically, our service business is comprised of our water treatment chemicals business as well as our ultrapure water supply business, maintenance services business and tool cleaning business in the water treatment facilities business.

Ultrapure Water Supply Business: Shift from Selling “Facilities“ to Selling Valuable “Water“

Kurita builds and owns ultrapure water production systems located within customers’ factories and provides a total package of services to operate, manage and maintain the facility.
Under this business model, unlike conventional sale of water treatment facilities, we receive payment for supplying ultrapure water in the amount needed by customers in a stable manner. Our services help customers reduce their costs for investment, human resources development and operational management.

Water Treatment Chemicals Business: Helping Customers Solve Their Problems by Proposing Optimal Water Treatment Solutions

In this business, we help customers stabilize the operation of boilers and air conditioners at their factories and office buildings. Through our strong lineup of water treatment chemicals and devices and via our service network, we provide our customers with optimal services that help them improve their productivity and meet their need to reduce their environmental impact.

Maintenance Services Business: Providing Customized After-Sale Services to Help Customers Stabilize Their Operation

Through our customized after-sales system and maintenance service network, we provide customers with maintenance services for our products delivered to them, including the maintenance of the products’ performance, prevention of problems and prompt responses in case of emergencies.

Tool Cleaning Business: Meeting Customers? Outsourcing Needs

At our own factories, we clean tools used in the manufacture of semiconductors and liquid crystal displays (LCDs) for customers. Through this service, we can help customers improve their productivity and yield.
