Kurita Establishes a New Research and Development Base, Kurita R&D Asia Pte. Ltd., in Singapore

Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (Head Office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President: Michiya Kadota) has established a new company, Kurita R&D Asia Pte.Ltd., in Singapore to strengthen its global research and development system.

As demand for water rises worldwide, water resources need to be used effectively. In this environment, the Kurita Group is focusing on developing technologies for desalination and the recycling of wastewater. Singapore, where the Company has established the new company, has a concentration of universities, research institutions, and corporate research and development facilities that are involved in researching technologies related to water and the environment. By establishing a research and development base in the country, the Company aims to expedite development and strengthen its technological capabilities.

Kurita R&D Asia Pte.Ltd. will be located in JTC CleanTech One @ Clean Tech Park. Part of Singapore's Jurong Innovation District, CleanTech Park is home to a vibrant ecosystem of businesses, research institutes and startups in urban solutions. The new company will seek cooperation with research institutions in Singapore to obtain timely information on leading-edge technology and to develop market competitive technologies through demonstration experiments in the region.
