Internal Proceedings Brought about by a Violation of the Anti-monopoly Law

As of June 12, 2006, Kurita Water Industries and one of its employee were indicted by The Osaka District Public Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of a violation of the anti-monopoly law concerning the bidding for the construction of human waste treatment facilities.

Acknowledging this matter with utmost solemnity, Kurita has implemented internal proceedings toward executives associated with this matter.

Kurita sincerely apologizes to our shareholders, customers, and all concerned for any trouble or inconvenience this may have caused.

Kurita will make every effort to prevent the recurrence of similar events by re-ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and implementing a fundamental review of the business structures. Kurita sincerely apologize and aims to fully restore confidence in Kurita Water Industries as soon as possible.
